Here is the launch trailer for BioShock 2. Gives you a first person look at what its going to be like when controlling a big daddy, and how the big sister is going to be a pain the ass to kill. Game will be released on February 9th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

This is a video from IGN.com that basically goes over the entire BioShock 1 game in 5 minutes. This can be very useful for two reason: 1) You have never played the first BioShock and plan on playing the 2nd. 2) It’s been so long since you played the 1st game. Other than that don’t watch this video because it will totally spoil BioShock 1 for you.

BioShock 2 Release Date Announced

2K Games announced today that BioShock 2 will be available worldwide beginning February 9, 2010. From the sounds of the announcement, February 9 will mark a simultaneous launch for the Xbox 360
, PlayStation 3 and the PC.

The plot of the game is like this:

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

Multiplayer in BioShock 2 will provide a rich prequel experience that expands the origins of the BioShock fiction. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, a premier provider of Plasmids and Tonics in the underwater city of Rapture that was first explored in the original BioShock. Players will need to use all the elements of the BioShock toolset to survive, as the full depth of the BioShock experience is refined and transformed into a unique multiplayer experience that can only be found in Rapture.

Bioshock 2 Gets November 3rd Release Date

For many gamers, BioShock was the game of the year for 2008. Despite being released in a particularly slow time of the year (summer) BioShock stuck as being one of the best shooters on the PC, Xbox 360 and eventually the PS3. Of course, any good game demands a sequel and Take-Two Interactive today announced during a financial conference call that BioShock 2 will hit North American gamers on November 3. Europe will get it a bit earlier, hitting October 30. While Take-Two hasn’t made anything official yet, it’s expected that BioShock 2 will hit the same three platforms as the first game did – but there could still be a timed exclusive deal in the works. Hopefully we’ll hear more about that at E3.

Bioshock 2 Rumors

Some new images revealed a sneak peak from the latest issue of Game Informer, showing that gamers will take control of the “the first ever” Big Daddy in BioShock 2. According to creative director Jordan Thomas, players will not only be able to upgrade their various plasmids and weapons, but will also get to use that monstrous drill. Of course, all of this is unconfirmed.

Shacknews pulled all the so-called details together into one list:

• The game is set 10 years after the first BioShock.
• There will be a multiplayer mode, but no details were given.
• The Big Sister is a grown-up Little Sister, and she’s hunting you.
• Some levels take place on the sea floor outside of Rapture.
• The Big Sister will periodically pop up after you kill enough Big Daddies. Her arrival is apparently signaled by a Little Sister singing a song.
• The Big Sister is described as fast and “the hardest thing in the game.” She’ll utilize telekinesis to throw objects at you or use them as shields.
• Your drill overheats, and cannot be used constantly.
• As a Big Daddy, you’ll be able to do that nifty shoulder bash move.
• Upgrade trees are now more diverse.
• The Incinerate plasmid allows you to throw a fireball or shoot a stream of fire, depending on upgrades.
• Using Incinerate on a Cyclone Trap will result in a flaming trap.
• You can now heal damaged turrets and bots.
• Multiplayer confirmed.
