Free Virus and SpyWare Protection

So one of the most common questions people ask me is which programs do I recommend for protecting a PC from Viruses and Spyware and how much will it cost? Well I say the same thing to everyone because I have personally tested every program and I have never had a serious Virus or Spyware on my computer. There are 3 programs that I tell everyone, the first one is called Microsoft Security Essentials. As the name states it is developed by Microsoft and provides very good Anti-virus protection for all Windows operating systems. The next one i recommend is Ad-Aware Internet Security Free, this program is able to find all sorts of spyware and it is update all the time so you know it will find everything. The last program I recommend is SUPERAntiSpyware, this program is able to find even the worst spyware on your system and it is a good backup program to Ad-Aware. The best part about Microsoft Security Essentials, Ad-Aware Free, and SUPERAntiSpyware is that they are all FREE! 1) Microsoft Security Essentials (FREE):

Microsoft Security Essentials provides exactly what the name says, the essentials for securing your computer. You get all of the necessary tools that you would require from an Anti-Virus program and it doesn’t slow down your computer. Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. 2) Ad-Aware Internet Security (FREE):

Ad-Aware Free Internet Security features real-time protection, advanced Genocode detection technology, rootkit protection, automatic updates, and much more. I recommend doing regular scans with Ad-aware, once a week if you use your computer a lot. Also make sure to keep it up to date so that the real-time protection can prevent even the newest threats from entering your computer.

3) SUPERAntiSpyware (FREE):

This is my third line of defense. SUPERAntiSpyware will remove all the spyware, not just the easy ones. Quick, complete and custom scanning of hard drives, removable drives, memory, registry, individual folders and more. Detects and remove spyware, adware, malware, Trojans, dialers, worms, key loggers, hijackers, parasites, root kits and many other types of threats. How often to scan with the programs?

• When Microsoft Security Essentials asks to do a scan i recommend you do it. Other than that I would say you only need to do a Full scan every month.
• For Ad-Aware i recommend doing smart scans every week and a full scan once a month.
• You should do a scan with SUPERAntiSpyware every 2 weeks as it can find even the little issues.
